Product Description
Flame Resistant PIR Pipe Insulation - Easy Cutting with Good Thermal Stability
Kaff Rees provides professional insulation solutions from -196℃ to +400℃, specializing in R&D, production, and distribution of insulation materials and pipe support systems. Our comprehensive product portfolio covers all support situations, operational loads, and temperature ranges for industrial insulation systems in petrochemical, coal chemical, LNG, low temperature, cold air, subway, and other construction applications.
Polyisocyanurate (PIR) is a foaming material made by polymerizing isocyanate and polyether. With superior physical and fire resistance properties compared to polyurethane, PIR offers excellent thermal conductivity and dimensional stability, making it an ideal organic hard thermal insulation material.
Key Features
  1. Fire resistance rated as B1
  2. Operating temperature range: -196℃ to +120℃
  3. Excellent dimensional stability
  4. Customizable cutting in panels and pipes to meet specific requirements

Typical PIR Insulation System Structure
PIR Insulation System Structure Diagram
  1. PIR Shell: inner layer + middle layer (if necessary) + outer layer
  2. Secondary Vapor Barrier: PAP aluminum foil
  3. Main Vapor Barrier: mastic + fiberglass meshes + mastic
  4. Metal Protective Layer: aluminum alloy plate, stainless steel plate, aluminized steel plate, GRP
  5. Sealant: HS-10-02, Foster 95-50, etc
  6. Strapping Material: stainless steel tape, sub sensitive tape
Packing and Storage
  • Store in a dry, lightproof, shady, and ventilated place
  • Keep away from heat sources and protect from sun exposure
  • Inner package: black polyethylene bags
  • Outer package: cartons
Handling Cautions
  • Handle PIR gently - avoid rolling, collision, and heavy pressure during movement
  • When applying to pipe and equipment insulation, fasten with glass fiber tape or steel band
  • Use a saw for cutting during application
